Controls for Industrial Production Lines

A real-time system for managing machine tools, replacing a commercial PLC by integrating the application management, operator interface, and I/O control into a single electronic system.

CJB designs in-house systems specifically for the world of Industrial Automation.

The "PLC-like" application is developed using our IEC-1131-3 software, "PowerPLC-Bridge®," transforming the CPU board (ARM or PC) into a powerful, easy-to-program and debug PLC.

The same CPU board can directly control a display and touch interface, providing a highly customized user interface.

Machine interfacing is achieved through I/O on a fieldbus system ("FieldBus"), and CJB supports protocols such as Modbus, CANbus, EtherCAT, and Devicenet.

The I/O can consist of commercial systems from various manufacturers, or custom boards designed by CJB to optimize machine interfacing and reduce control system costs.

In other cases, the interface to the electromechanical parts of the production line is implemented with custom electronics designed by CJB, which integrate with the CPU board. This is particularly relevant when using an x64 platform equipped with CANbus boards and/or axis control interfaces.

Our Industrial Automation Controls consist of:

  • A powerful CPU board, based on ARM or PC, capable of displaying complex graphical interfaces with animations.
  • One or more high-resolution displays.
  • Touch surfaces for the display or standalone buttons, designed to operate even with gloves or in the presence of moisture and condensation.
  • A set of I/O Fieldbus modules with standard communication protocols, or add-on boards for PC-based systems.
  • PLC-like software with remote simulation and debugging capabilities.
  • A real-time operating system.
