Controls for Automatic Ironing Machines

Controlling an automatic shirt or trousers ironing machine, intended for industrial laundries that want to save a lot of time for such functions, was a challenge due to the complication of the movements of the various arms and the detection of the actuation timings that are all controlled by pneumatic valves.

Apart from the control, based on our NXP ARM CPU and a touch display (of various sizes), we designed and produced a special I/O interface board able to recognize fast events (from interrupt inputs), and store the time elapsed between the event and the reading of the board status (which is performed in Modbus-RTU fieldbus).

So we can calculate exactly the moment in which we need to activate an actuation valve, relative to the event recorded in input.

Also for this project we used our SoftPLC development tool "PowerPLC-Bridge".
