Control System for Nuclear Central Monitoring

Since the year 2000, CJB has been involved in the design and implementation of an infrastructure for collecting and processing data acquired from various points of the So.G.I.N. Caorso nuclear power plant.

We have created several increasingly sophisticated versions, connecting our I/O electronics to the old "cabinets" (made in the 70s) where signals of various types converge, coming from probes located in the critical points of the plant.

The Caorso power plant is being decommissioned but many sections are still critical because they contain radioactive parts, are subject to changes in the aquifer, and therefore control must be carried out 24/7 with continuous saving of the logs.

We have implemented a client-server structure, where the clients acquire data in parallel and there is always a duplicate ready to acquire data from the field in case the main system has problems.

The most complex part of the application was understanding the type of probe signals, generated by analog electronics made in the 70s.
Ultimately, the CJB monitoring system for the Caorso power plant has been in operation for more than 20 years.
